Cold Blooded Murder
Wednesday, January 31, 2007, 11:21 PM
I was sitting down to look something up on my laptop this evening as the news was coming on. The first story of the night was about a murder in Fort Worth, so of course I tuned in... turns out the murder occured about 10 blocks from Fortress. Some guy killed another guy about a scratch on his rims at a tire store. Sad isn't it? [ add comment ] | permalink |

The past 2 months have been interesting. Here is a summary of what has happened:
1 – I have acquired a 2nd seasonal job (20 hours a week) at Old Navy
2 - Two employees have left Fortress placing more work on the plates of the rest of the staff
3 – My cat Spike was found bleeding in my bath tub, hospitalized, had surgery and released – don’t ask about the bill, I am not yet ready to talk about it
4 – A seriously ridiculous incident happened in Kansas over thanksgiving, causing us to return to Kansas this month & costing a chuck of change…
5 – My checking account has been stolen. Fraud protection by Wells Fargo is on the case. I now have a new account
6 – I lost my car & house keys. The Nissan key is irreplaceable. If I loose my back up key, I will have to get an entirely new ignition and lock system.
7 – David has / had bronchitis and his insurance doesn’t kick in until January
8 – I have 2 cavities that need “work” – “work” = $$ even with insurance
9 – I’m tired and have not been spiritually fed in weeks
10 – I haven’t seen many of my friends in weeks
Here’s why it’s okay:
1 – God is in control

I got this email today.
As of today the Financial Stewardship Committee has issued a “lockdown” on all staff expenses except for gas for the vans. The committee again expressed the exceptional job of the staff keeping expenses low; however, our cash position is such that we must temporarily cease all spending except that which is a “bare necessity”.
We know that God is faithful and he will provide for His purposes’. Let’s continue to pray for that provision and may our faith be strengthened through challenging times.

Someone posted this and I liked it!
As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. So send this to all of your friends (and me) in the next 5 minutes and a miracle will happen tonight.
Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.
